It is the third part of our long route through the Balkans. The first part runs through Romania (Offroad Guide RO-5_EN). The second through Bulgaria (Offroad Guide BG-1_EN), and the fourth through Albania (Offroad Guide AL-2_EN). The length of the route is 1300 km. We recommend it for nine days.

Greece is the cradle of European civilization. Most people associate it with ancient monuments and seaside resorts. But it is a country with a very diverse tourist offer and beautiful nature, where off-road enthusiasts can also have a great adventure.

The route described in the Guide combines the "flagship" tourist attractions that everyone who hasn't seen them yet should see. It ensures simultaneous travel through beautiful nature with overnight stays on wild beaches or campsites by the sea and in the mountains. It guarantees a wealth of wonderful memories for many years.

Most of it can be driven with a factory off-road vehicle. In bad weather, there may be sections that will cause trouble even for well-equipped and experienced crews, but there won't be many of them in the summer.

The route is divided into stages that start and end in places chosen for overnight stays. We assumed sleeping based on our own equipment, but it is also possible to use hotels or guesthouses.

The offroad route Greece GR-1 guarantees a successful trip.

It includes, among others: ancient monuments of Thrace, the monk-inhabited Athos Peninsula, the historic village of Arnea, Thessaloniki, the tomb of the Macedonian kings, Mount Olympus, and the extraordinary monasteries of Meteora... Of course, there will also be beautiful beaches by the warm sea...
