This is a route with entry to Albania from Macedonia. It is 1470 km long and we recommend it for 14 days. It can be completed with a factory off-road vehicle. However, we warn that sharp stones, steep inclines, narrow rocky ledges over cliffs, which are often driven on, can make even very experienced crews tremble. If you have a fear of heights, it's better to skip a few sections of our route...

Albania is one of the most beautiful countries in Europe.

It's often said that the mountains rise from the sea. And it's the alpine-like mountains and the warm sea with wild beaches that are its biggest attractions. They draw tourists from all over the world. Especially off-road fans, who can also enjoy the great freedom of driving and camping here. Prices are also significant, still much lower than in neighboring Greece or Croatia.

Albania has vast, uninhabited spaces, picturesque lakes and rivers, often hidden in deep canyons. Behind almost every turn, there are wonderful views waiting. There are also many unique, world-renowned monuments. Our expedition off-road route Albania AL-1 covers almost all of Albania's most famous tourist attractions.

When planning it, we tried to make it as "off-road" as possible and to allow for interaction with beautiful nature. But this time - unlike in other countries - our effort went towards ensuring it is not too wild and especially not too dangerous. We planned overnight stays with our own equipment.

These are set in the wild and on campsites. In a few places, we recommend guesthouses or hotels. The entire route is divided into 14 stages, which end at the proposed overnight stops. We planned one stage for each day of the trip, but it's worth reserving more days to rest longer, for example, on a wild beach by the Adriatic.
